"Australian authorities are putting their foot down. In an effort to curb alcohol-related crime at one of the country's most popular racing events which began Thursday, spectators will now be limited to a measly 24 cans of beer per day. But if you're willing to switch to light beer, then you can legally consume 36 beers per day.
And for those who enjoy a nice glass of wine, they will have to make do with just over a gallon each day. Authorities are also warning attendees to drive safely.
They're so strict down under."

Well, maybe not TOTAL prohibition.

Hey , that IS prohibition Oz style ! Restrictions ...we don't need no damn restrictions !

Especially when most of the crowd will leave the race circuit at 5pm Sunday and start their 300 mile to 1000 mile drive home , most trying to be there for work on Monday morning :(:D

Wrong race to look at, now at the Caulfield and Melbourne cups there will be NO restriction on the amount of Pol Roger bubbly you can drink. There are some horrible sights in the birdcage after the races are run, not-so-bright young things wearing nothing much at all littered all over the grass. But that pales into insignifigance when you have a dekko in the Mounting yard!
