Anyone have a spare? Bronze. Possibly Wilcox Crittenden.

The Wooden Boat Foundation store in Port Townsend Washington. I was just in there last week when passing through. They carry all the Davey and Co., London, products and I believe I recalled seeing a selection of chain pipe fittings on the shelves in there. They mail order. Check it out. http://shop.woodenboat.org/t-mfg_Davey.aspx
First thing I did was look in the Davey catalog and see they don't have that type. Seattle would be a nice place to go for a looksee, but a fur piece away. Thanks for the suggestion, Bob. If it comes to it I'll phone them.
Thad:
I think I have one for you. The chain hook on the inside might need some work, and it will need polishing/cleaning up, but it should be okay. Send me your mailing address and I'll try to get it in the mail tomorrow or Wednesday.

Try China Marine Trading Co. (Gray, Maine) Steve and Sharon, chinaseatrading.com , email: chinasea@chinaseatrading.com 207-657-2117.
Thanks all. A case of not dealing with a loose fitting right away. Whether it flew off in our wild sailing Saturday or was kicked off by the crew who didn't know it was free I don't know, but another lesson to deal with problems right away. Come for a sail.

Now you have to tell us about the wild sailing on Sat. With photos please.:D
Yeah, I'd like to see some pics, too. Cover is on the way ... hopefully you'll have it by the weekend (and it will fit!). I couldn't find the W&C marking, but it seems to be the same size as others I've seen ...

Sorry, we took no pictures with cameras. It was blowing good, forecast may have been 20-25, gusts to 30, NW. We went out about 1:30 and it was pretty calm in the harbor that opens NE. Thought about going with the forestaysail but hanked on the jib instead. Raised Mizzen and Main. Sailed off the mooring, raised the jib and sailed out of the harbor. Outside it was blowing a good 20+ so we were off and flying. Heading just north of east we passed the Brimbal rocks and bore off slightly to go between the Popes Head and the North Gooseberry, then outside Baker Island. We had been going 6.5 touching 7 on the GPS, telltales showing just about a beam reach. Quiet in the lee of Bakers Bill went for his coat and got mine and the toque, then back into the wind on the same heading, making for the Magnolia shore of Gloucester Harbor. The wind was veering more N as we made for the lee of the cliffs outside Norman's Woe and made our tack. Now the wind seemed to be blowing at least 30 and gusting higher. A few times we caught gusts that put the rail under briefly. Once the gust past and she stood up quick as a shot before the wind came back. We blasted on trying to keep some in the lee of the shore, but the NW element kept pushing us out into the channel where the tide was running against us. Still we were creaming along and staying ahead of a larger boat just astern. I was thinking to make the inside of Bakers, but my neighbor Bill wondered if we could use the lee of Bakers to take in the Main. Good idea, so we bore off and did just that. There wasn't as much apparent lee there now, but I got the main down and started tying it down as Bill headed us up, then it was off again. Had the harden up the jib a little to make the passage inside the North Gooseberry and finish securing the main. It seemed to be blowing 40 then, we hadn't slowed down much if at all. Maybe no 8s but still around 7. Bill on the weather rail got a few wet ones in the back that I saw coming and could do nothing about, in the face and down the front. Back in the lee of Marblehead Bill pulled down the as I got the engine going. We motored back to the mooring with the mizzen pushing the engine and me trying to stay behind another boat working it's way across our path. More wind in the harbor now missed the first try at the pick up bouy so round we went. Jibing, the Mizzen broke the seizing of the sheet block, but that was easily seized to it's eye on the boomkin after mooring. Bill had lost his cap in a puff, and then I noticed the deck pipe cover was gone.

Wow! and Wheee! :D
The thing about exciting sails like that is… you’re much too busy for picture-taking. Thanks for the word-pictures Thad; sounds like SEA HARMONY was having a good romp. Even if she did toss her deckpipe cover and Bill’s hat!

We had similar conditions here Saturday, too. We didn't get any pictures either - and I lost a hat, also. :D
