Man, you want a good (but weird) "Ring Of Fire"? Check out Wall of Voodoo's version.

Am I imagining this, or didn't they once use that tune in an advertisement for Preparation-H?

I'd listen to him sing "happy birthday." "Twinkle twinkle little star," anything.

You can see that cocaine working.

Where'd the term "cover" begin. Some songs have been recorded by lots of people. "Unchained Melody" comes to mind.

Are they all "covers"?

Man, you want a good (but weird) "Ring Of Fire"? Check out Wall of Voodoo's version.Thst was spectacular! On my old computer, which died a slow horrible painful death but still hiccups from time to time, I have a download of The Replacements covering "Drive, She Said" which is really an oddball thing to have.

Went out last night to a new local bar-- they kind of put it together with the dive built in from the get-go-- and there was a damn good band playing. Alt-country and twang, mostly covers, and they did a couple of Chris Whitley and Tom Waits covers. Even the snobbiest would have to admit that if you're gonna do covers, you should probably cover the arcane and the exquisite. IMHO, anyhow.

Totally. That's why my band did a lot of Oysterband. ;)

Sheesh...Ray is heavily on drugs there - cool interpretation anyway :)

Johnny was probably rolling right along, too.

ray's version of the hank snow tune, movin on, is a masterpiece.
