Has anyone ever made one larger than 16"?
My Unisaw is big enough for me :)

Yes. I rented a shop that had all 1880 era belt driven machines. The table saw was an American Brand 16" with a 7.5 hp motor. Man it could rip stuff all day. tilting top but I never tilted it.
In the shop he had another saw that I liked even better. It was a sliding tablesaw. But you could lock the sliding saw if you wanted and move the fence so it could be used for ripping. Due to the configuration of the table and brackets it had a 22" sawblade on it. I never raised it up above 2.5" above the table height as I was making doors and windows and cutting the stiles and rails to length prior to mortise and tenoning.
But I could have easily ripped about and 8" tall piece of wood If I had wanted to.
Cool machines, babbit bearings, slap of the belts. I will look for photos of that shop and post them if I find them.
I did routinely rip 4.5" thick stock on the 16" saw, no problem.
The one in the photo is probably from the 30's or after.
