Anyone in Seattle have some extra red lead primer, or Lead Tetroxide powder they would like to sell?
and or, does anyone in Seattle area want to go together on a bulk order of Lead Tetroxide powder to save shipping/bulk price and mix our own?

As far as I know, they all sell red lead primer substitute, Bob. No red lead in their red lead.
Still can be gotten in BC from better chandlers there.

Or, you can order some from G. Kirby:

I can vouchsafe for Kirby's Red Lead Primer. Good stuff. Kills living things across the board :p
There's another source as well. I just did a little googling. It looks like you can get red lead primer from the Sandusky Paint Company (Ohio) at http://www.sanpaco.com/view.asp?id=2406 -- price seems steep though at $225/gallon. Makes Kirby's look cheap at only $175/gallon.

Lew,
I'm informed by a mutual friend (who can't speak for himself at the moment) that the Fisheries Supply goop has LOTS of red lead in it, and works beautifully. I havn't used it, personally.

Lew- the Farwest Red Lead product sold by Admiral Ship Supply, and others, is indeed real Red Lead Paint.

Really! I am surprised, but not unpleasantly so. I was of the opinion they no longer contained it. My can (from Fisheries) says: Red Lead Substitute.
Added: I'm told that despite the "red lead substitute" disclaimer it does have lead in it. Well live and learn.

Try www.Firefox-fx.com for tetroxide powder, the powder is reasonable and so is shipping.

Lead chromate is definitely the real thing, even though Farwest calls it a "Red Lead Replacement".
