i'm new to woodenboat forum but am already addicted to it! anyway i'm trying to find information on colonial boats , where they were built , no's bult etc. as i am an owner of a 1960 35' open bulkhead express .
it appears to replicate what chris craft did years earlier but i cannot find any info where they were produced etc. any help would be great .

That's a name I haven't heard of in YEARS. My recollection of them is that they were reasonably build, descent boats. built in New Jersey, my feeling is that they were mostly built in the 1950's & 60's. That's about all I remember of them, other than they had a chrome plated transom vent with the word "Colonial" cast in as the 'grating'. A quick search indicates they merged with Richardson (good boats) in the early 60's.
