View Full Version : Interesting License Plates

Any body see any interesting personalized license plates around?

I saw one today on a Ford Mustang that caught my eye - "GIDYUP"

One of the more memorable ones that I ever saw was on a minivan with a carload of kids being driven by a visibly distraught mother. The plate was "PB4UGO" :D

I've posted this here before, but since you brought it up, my all time favourite ...

A semi-sleazy guy driving a big ol' Chev with blankets and pillows in the back seat, sportin' a plate that read "WOMEN". Better yet was when you read it in contect with the procince name and motto in entirety - ONTARIO WOMEN YOURS TO DISCOVER.

Next up, plate on a Shelby Cobra GT500: 2FST4U

Lastly, two Jag 'S'-Types parked side-by-side in a parking garage: 'MINE' and 'HERS'

I have a friend that is a cropduster. He drives a pristine old mid eighties BMW M6 with the plate, IFLYLOW.

Fortunately for me, if SWMBO ever leaves she has absolutely no designs on my Honda Civic. ;)

An old Mercedes at the Common Ground Fair stuttered past on its way out of the meadow parking lot.

The plate? VEGY OIL

Canoz...that was on my old '66 T bird with the 429 warmed over mill....
I also had new letters made for the trunk lid...it said originally "Thunderbird" but I reworked it to "Thunderbuzzard"...

Back in '79 or '80, while I was still attending Pitt, I was passed on the way home one afternoon by a Porsche. It was like no other Porsche I'd ever seen up until that time. It was some model of 911 turbo with flared fenders and the most astounding "whales tail" spoiler I'd ever seen. It was a rolling homage to the adage: "Nothing exceeds like excess." At least the owner knew what he was doing and why... The license plate read:

My '68 Beetle had plates that read UBUGME.

People always thought it was "cute."

Think I told this before, but the late Jay Haynes, a fellow curmudgeon "par excellance", had a '62 Rambler American which he'd had repainted by some local non-english speaking folks back in the early '70's... when they put the individual letters back on the trunk, Jay was now driving a "Blarmer".

Rather than being upset, Jay (no wonder, if you knew him) was charmed by this and referred to his "Blarmer" at every opportunity.

One day he got a call at work that the local Wayne, PA, police had his car at the station along with the perp who had stolen it from Jay's parking lot at work.

The guy had been driving down the main street, not doing anything to attract attention other than driving a car well-known to every police officer within five townships.... couldn't understand why the police car pulled him over for a check as to why HE was driving it.

Now, I like seeing unusual license plates... Been wantin' one fer my truck "Barthalomule".. limited to 6 charactors..:(

My brother have a Harley Sportster, he had it repainted in glittery trangerine with ghost flames.. his plate say "BURNT"..
Every time I see that bike, it reminded me of orange flavored tootsie pop, just wanna to lick it...

Custom tags in our family: Wife's cousin, reddish blond of German extraction, marries a nice Irish girl...3 daughters, custom tag "CAR8TOP"...can you guess the family hair color? My wife is a fully ordained pastor at her church - tag is "BTHNKFL". I'm a molar mechanic, custom tag, "CAPNPL8", can be read 2 ways. Custom tag on the bike,"GUZZI".

We've got a work vehicle with the plate "SCOPES".

Saw another one this morning that said "BBYDOLL". Let's just say the driver didn't go with the plate. He needed a shave badly.

Okay, had to resurrect this thread - the car I saw this plate on must be owned by either a chemistry teacher or a member of this forum:
