Ross, no guarantees but check with these people:

http://www.captainsnautical.com/

The gentleman upstairs repairs all manner of nautical instruments, will almost certainly know where to direct you if they don't sell the stuff themselves.

Bill Haimes is a master instrument maker and repairman, he specializes in compasses. Island Marine Instruments in Everrett Washington. he ships and receives instruments from all over the world. He repaired my compass and had all of the parts. He stockpiles that stuff. Very competent and quick turnaround. And he's just a heck of a nice man.

You should be able to substitute any good quality relative bearing grease, and the only compass points I've ever been able to find were cardinal points.

That's tough. I need 1/4 points from NE.

Good luck with that. Even decades ago they were hard to find.

Just what kind of shape are your points in. I have sharpened points that weren't too far gone. I seem to have the best luck using a medium grade Arkansas stone.

Yup, that magnetic bearing grease can be hard to find. However, anyone who can box the compass should have plenty of spare points to share since nobody seems to use them anymore.

A careful reading of this coast pilot will clearly show the need for some replacement compass points.

New points are best made from Swedish tool steel. They will last much longer. I had some left over from another project and had a custom made rigging knife made that if I added a point it would penetrate armor...get the real stuff, not what Americans call tool steel. It will dull quickly and lose it's magnetism.

I've got plenty of propwash left from my trip north, shoreline too, if you need any.

Don't need prop wash but I am in need of a few hundred feet of rhumb line.

Looked in the sea chest. Got waterline, lubber's line, shoreline, telephone line and age lines.

I checked in the shed for stuff but only found auto stuff.
Kaleco only supplies the auto industry too, maybe they need a marine division.

I did just order some of this

KaleCo Elbow Grease (http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=32)
