A follow up to a previous posting where I asked for painting advice. My first boat building project is finally done and actually came out better than I anticipated (took longer too). But, happy with the paint job thanks to forumites.

Next project - Penobscot 14. Probably many more questions to be posted with that one.

The boat is a 16' LYS (Lumber Yard Skiff). Plans from Old Wharf Dory in Wellfleet, MA. I haven't launched it as a friend of mine liked it so much, he wanted to buy it from me before it was done. So I just delivered it to him way up in almost-nowhere, Maine. Looking forward to fishing out of it with him in the spring. He's out of town, but I figured I'd give him the pleasure of christening.

That looks much better than in your earlier posts, how many coats did it take to cover the white primer?
I do like that dark blue (Oxford Blue?), I got a very good deal on a quantity of Toplac Oxford Blue earlier this year when I repainted my father-in-law's 23' cabin cruiser, I've since painted a 1950s Thames Runabout that I restored using the leftovers ,and still have enough to paint my new Acorn Skiff the same blue too, and a couple of models!
