Well we did manage to get some work done on Floozie over the holidays, along with making some
Toys for my friend’s granddaughter and grandson. An armoire for her doll clothes and a bulldozer for him.

Then we had one more little project a new oak floor in the kitchen

And after all that we got to work on Floozie the window frames are done I think the slight crown
On the tops of the windows turned out well.

And we got the aft bulkheads done for the cabin.

I had a little bout with my conscience as far as the panel’s go I thought I might be coppingout
on tradition because they are not solid wood . I was concerned about wood movement so I put in a mahogany ply wood panel and glued on a thin solid panel itmay not be the real thing but I think it will solve the problem and it looks pretty good to

I guess the next step will be the cabin sole any one have any ideas on what I should use
Teak is off the list due to the price I was thinking of maple flooring stained and with a holly stripe. smile.gif smile.gif ........Phil

Looking great Phil!!!! Can you refresh my memory, what design again? I know you modified the original plan but can't remember the plan.

What you did with the ply panels in the bulkheads makes a lot of sense to me, and looks great! smile.gif

Phil,

Here's a thought for an attractive deck that won't break the bank. The only proviso is that I have not used it in a marine application. Others are welcome to jump all over its suitability or not.

I have created very attractive stripped appearance floors by cutting ply into strips, routing a slight reveal on the top edges and then laying it like regular flooring. The little reveals can be left to give a slight texture to the floor or filled with a different color of putty to give more contrast. I would be inclined to but a non-slip varnish over top and even to consider glassing it first.

A lot more work than just buying ready made planking but you have shown that you are not afraid of putting in the effort. The boat is looking great.
