Well done - better yet if you still like each other, and would do it all again, given hindsight.

We'll hit 20 next time, and it's still the best choice I managed to stumble into.

35 years here aounds like you two have gotten it figured out how to work together and at the same time as fully supporting each other give each other enough space to grow personally.

Well done!!!!!

For us it has always been total commitment to each other as best friends, while never even thinking about "ownership" type feelings.

Even before getting married 4.5 months after meeting we have always put best friends first in our relationship.

So once again Congratulations and keep on keeping on.

My heartiest congratulations to you. Too many today treat marriage like a hobby. They get tired of one and find another instead of becoming a master at the first one. You are a master.

Congrats. Throw yourself a party.

My wife and I celebrated our 41st this year.

When my oldest daughter got married, as we were making out the guest list we realized that throughout all the people at the reception, there were no divorces. Marriages ranged from fairly recent to the groom's grandparents, who had been married for 69 years at that time.

We've had our ups and downs, but I don't think either of us can imagine life without the other. I know I can't.

I don't really know any secret, aside from both continuing to like the basic things and respecting each other. And having the luck not to be both dispairing of the marriage at the same time.

Hemingway put it this way in the Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber:

"They had a sound basis of union. Margot was too beautiful for Macomber to divorce her and Macomber had too much money for Margot ever to leave him."

I've got 17 years coming up ... not quite as clean as your 25 though.

Many here have read about it! :(

Anyway, the secret to a successful marriage is:

- unconditional love
- common sense
- having outside interests

No particular order!

Good on you for 25 years!!!!!!!!!!
