hi all
I use hullform software a fair bit for playing around with boat designs. I use this software because it is free and I used to it. I guess I could use another, but it would take a long time to learn.
I have been using it for many years, about eight years, and have learnt many tricks for getting good things out of it. There is one problem I have however.
I will design a hard chine boat, get all the offsets correct, this boat may well have a transom bow, but when I generate teh image, the section lines are all scewed they are not straight.
From topview and sideview the images are perfect, but from endview the lines do funny things. How do I fix this. It is not too much of an issue, but it does affect working out where the center of buoyancy is, and some other numbers.
I guess once I have the offsets, I can enter it into another program, but that sounds a hassle. Has anyone else had this problem and know of a fix?
here is an image of what I am talking about, I have all the offsets, have set displacement, design looks good, but the endview, lines are all squiggly. This problem seems to happen all the time, maybe it is just the way i do things, playing around with the offsets etc etc, adding 2 sections close together at the bow and adjusting line intersection flexibility etc
