FYI,

I was just at Jamestown Distributors for some supplies and found the Newport Rhode Island location closed. I drove to the Bristol, RI location and asked what happened. The guy there said the Newport location just couldn't make it, so they closed it about 4 weeks ago. Anyway, it will not affect the shipping if you order via mail, so go for it.

Thought some of you might want to know if your local.

I'm consistently surprised at how quickly they ship orders.
Many time, i've placed an order at 2PM and received it the next day.
They're a pleasure to deal with.

Yep...they're good. My delivery takes 2 days..must be a zone thing. I must say, however, that Coastal has the best service. When I ordered my sander and Fein vac, the guy called me and asked me if I planned to use them together. I said yes, and he told me I needed an adapter...about 2 bucks....do I want him to add it to the order? That's service!

Jamestown used to have a store in Beaufort, South Carolina, but it wasn't viable either, more's the pity.

Margo and I would do a pass through the Marine consignment shop there close to the store and then go there for a few items. We would do this on our last day in Newport. Sorry to see it closed.

Not a big deal, Dave. The Bristol store is 15 minutes up the road, and there's a fine selection of waterfront pubs for afterward.
