Does anyone have any information beyond the Atkin website regarding Heron or Nibble? They are both tunnel stern but shorter than Rescue Minor. So far information has been sparse in my search. I was hoping we might have had someone here before my arrival who had built one or perhaps someone has more information or pictures..
Thanks:

To my unskilled eye, NIBBLE looks a little shapelier than HERON, and maybe a little more difficult to plank. Either way, I like SERGEANT FAUNCE a whole lot, though you'd best to part your hair in the middle and carry the same amount of change in each pocket :D

I wanted the same thing and I managed to secure a copy of Motor Boating's Ideal Series Vol 16. It was the only one with Heron in it. Give me a week or so to get my scanner reconnected and I'll see what I can get to you.
It looks real interesting because I was thinking of a smaller Rescue Minor but this should fill the bill. If it was built a little lighter with modern methods and had a lighter engine it should have some decent performance.
One interesting thing about vol 16 is that most of the designs in there are not in Atkin's web site.

Tom C:
Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing what you have found.
I have considered reducing the Rescue Minor in size a little but as you indicated, it might not be necessary. Heron looks like it might be an option, but I'd like more information on it. I just don't like being the one who breaks trail on something like this. I'd rather be a follower so to speak.

I was going to insert a better view but the attachment size is quite small.

Here’s how to post photos on this forum:
First - don’t attach photos. Most web forums don’t allow it, and space limitations are the main reason why.
Second - Instead of attaching them to a thread, post the pics on the web somewhere. You have a free website area with any paid ISP’s email account, or use www.picturetrail.com, flickr, photobucket or other free image hosting service.
Once posted on the web, right-click the image to copy the URL (web address). Always test first by pasting the image URL into the window of a web browser and see if the image displays.
Remember, the IMAGE URL will end in .jpg, not .htm or html. URLs ending in .htm are the page that the image is at, not the image location itself. If the image URL ends in other code, try deleting everything after the “xxxxxx.jpg” part of the URL to get it to display on web forums.
Third - once posted on the web, try this procedure while logged in to this Forum:
1. Click the “User CP” link in the browser window in the top left of the menu bar.
2. Click the “Edit Options” link about 1/4 of the way down the left column.
3. In the “Misc Options” at the bottom of the next page, select “Enhanced Interface” from the pulldown list.
4. Once this interface has been selected, in any “Reply” window you can click the “insert photo” icon --> a little yellow square icon with the stamp in the upper right corner, the mountains in the lower center.
5. Once the little dialog box titled “Please enter the URL of your image” comes up, paste the URL of the photo in the field.
If unsure of the procedure, test first by pasting the image URL into the window of a web browser.

The only book that nibble was available in was "How to build plans for simple speedy sea worthy craft" This was an Ideal series vol 38. I was just on openlibrary.org and there were a few copies available. There was even a copy on the shelf in New Zealand "I love the internet"
Anyway give me a few weeks and I'll get some info on Nibble.
