They had nice weather. The day we crossed on the Blue Bird ferry I could have rowed across in my 7 1/2 ft pram. A video on WBF a little while ago showed the same ferry with at first 30 ft(?) ft of her keel showing at the bow, and a few seconds later both props were out of water. The Cook Straight can be a very nasty place, or not.
