We launched our 9 1/2' Nutshell, under oars, last year (see "Nutshell Launch" thread under my old WBF account). Now the sailing rig is complete, so this year we had the sailing launch:

Total time to build the Nutshell: 285 hours.

Since launching a wooden boat can lead to only one natural conclusion--building another--here is the start of lofting of Wittholz's 15' cat "Corvus":

I'll post updates as this build moves along.

Nice looking boat! I hope your kids enjoy it.

Now you have a tender for your Corvus when it is done. Please post build pictures of your Corvus as you go along for us arm chair boat builders - I have plans for the 17' catboat so I am interested.

Hear here! Seconding the comments on the "nice clean work." She really looks good. Yes, please show us progress on the Corvus.

Very cool! I've yet to take my kids out sailing in my Acorn dinghy. Somehow it seemed too small, but if you can fit two kids in a 9-1/2' nutshell, I should be able to fit at least one in my 10' Acorn.

Very nice, Bob. We were hoping to get my daughter's Nutshell sailing this summer but I guess it won't happen now. Your pics are good inspiration for us to have it ready in the spring.
