after 4 years we are finally afloat and i must say that our schooner is drop dead gorgeous!! (biased of course)!!!!
cant't stay here long as i have just ducked back to do washing, pick up gear and check my email etc and say hello to my cat!
i will post photos and a story of the launching here within a week or two. in any case, the launching went well...all up it took about 4 hours and nothing went wrong. not even any rain (Innisfail is a very wet place). the boat has attracted a lot of attention especially so as it was a public launching. we are busy now rigging etc and 'packing' up our old home.
we are so happy to be living the life of sailors again!!!!

"Sail on, nor fear to breast the sea
Our hearts, our hopes, are all with thee,
Our hearts, our hopes, our prayers, our tears,
Our faith triumphant o'er our fears,
Are all with thee,--are all with thee!"

May she have fair winds and a following sea.

hello everyone, thanks for the wonderfully nice things you have all said!!! i will endeavour to post photos ASAP, but life is kind of busy right now with getting the schooner sea worthy and up to Cairns. we are off out the river tomorrow as the tides are dropping and we will get out over the bar while we can and head south to Mourilyan as it is an all weather and tide entrance. hopefully we will then head north towards cairns on tuesday. my access to the internet will be limited from now on but i will get those launching photos posted very soon...i hope you can all be patient!!!!!!
bernadette and david now on board DECATUR! smile.gif

This thread points to the need for an official Forum photographer. How 'bout it Shane ? It can't be that far.

I also notice that most of the above comments are from members with low numbers. For anyone who missed the earlier posts, here's what the fuss is all about.
