Our new FREE service: List your plans and/or kits in our new online Directory.

We're emerging from our beta test and now welcome you to post your information. We'll promote to viewers next week.

Go to www.woodenboat.com/boatplansandkits and read the FAQ on the left before you begin posting. All the information you need is there.

Thanks in advance for participating, and please ask me any questions.

Carl can we get at least one picture of the boat to come up with the list when someones clicks on a catagory. Kind of like a 2x avatar?

Ooops my bad Carl

I see now in FAQ there is a procedure but I am wondering if it has glitches as even J Welsford does not seem to be using it. He is in my mind one of the most PC and Internet savvy designers out there.

Chase

Also I s it allowed for us non professional grade designers to have a type of catagory for Sketches and future design hopes?

Many of us know how to design parts of boat that we see completed in our mind but need to partner up with someone to jointly create a completed ready to build design. This is especially true of those of us interested in building race type replicas of the nature like Hvalsoe's Aurora.

THhis is I think going to be a great asset to the whole boating community not just us wood folks. Thank you adn the whole team at WBM/PBB for having the GUTS to go forward with this.

Thanks, Chase. John Welsford is going back and redoing some of his uploads.. when he has time. Dudley Dix and Doug Hyan have been uploading just fine.

Sure, post doddles away and ask for comments.

Use it for which you wish -- It's yours.

Best, Carl

Carl,
This is going to be a great resource.

I notice that the pages listing plans by category show the name of the design followed by the address of the designer. It would be great if the name of the designer was displayed below the design name - I think this is initially of more interest than the designer's address.

Thanks
John

Me? Internet savvy? Thanks for the compliment, but new software drives me nuts and it usually takes me quite a while to learn it. It even took me quite a while to figure out how to reduce the size of the images to suit. I am though as Carl says, working away on getting my listings in there and updating the previous ones as I learn how it all works.
Ever heard of Discalculia? Like dislexia only with numbers and often with computer software and I'm a text book case even down to having been tossed out of school at 14 because it was not recognised in those days. Boat design? Numbers? Lots and lots of them, it takes me a lot longer than it should but I get there.

The plans and kit listing is a great resource, my heartfelt thanks to WoodenBoat and all those involved. I'm sure that over time it will become the preferred reference for most looking for that sort of information.

What are the "orders" and "invoices" tabs for?

Is there a picture limit (3) per listing?

This is most excellent. I agree a good thumbnail image is needed up front. Also, some of the images are badly pixelated, but can the webmaster control that?

Thanks for yours, JEM. Those are just boilerplate fields. There is no charge.

We'll look at the limits for pictures and see if we can change those.

Sadly, the webmaster can't change those. Tips for uploads are at the FAQ on the left.
