just ate at Rancho Viejo in Sonoma. Good food. Small ceviche tostada appetizer, baby spinach and cactus salad. GF had hibiscus sangria and I had a michelada (beery mary). The porch is well enclosed nestled next to McDonalds with just the right amount of kerosene aroma from the many lamps. Main dishes are well balanced. Seriously the porch is a good scene.

Correct Popeye ... but most confuse Tex/Mex and/or Southwest food as Mexican.

I prefer, however, the latter.

Although real Mexican food is okay too ... in a pinch!

Kind of like Italian food ... Americans tend to like Sicilian food ... red sauces, etc.

The further north, the lighter the fare ... the more chicken ... and the more spices ... that's good too, though!

American versions of any ethnic foood is most often nothing like the real thing.
