I've got a lead on one of these. At least I think its one of these. It has to be dug out of storage
What bugs me is its not cast iron.
Anyone got one? Are you pleased with it?
Thanks, Dave

I installed one on my 24 foot sailboat a few years back and I'm pretty happy with it. I just burn briquettes in it and it does do a good job of taking the chill of the cabin in the evenings and mornings but I wouldn't plan on staying toasty warm in the dead of winter with this stove. Because of the built in heat shield on the stove there are far less constraints on installation than with the cast iron stoves

I had one. When mine got hot the door would move/warp with the heat - thus creating a big draft hole around the door, which fed the fire more air - resulting in a raging fire that couldn't be shut down.
I'd go with a cast iron stove.

We had one on our liveaboard, gbasil, and loved it. We used wood (always available) and loved the dry heat - kept the boat in great shape! In winter, at the dock, we'd have an elec. heater on at night, but otherwise, burned wood. Worked very well. Easy installation. No complaints whatsoever.

I used one for a few years. Worked fine, no complaints. Did not ever overload it though, just enough charcoal to be ready to burn out about beddy bye time. Never left anything running at night.

Had one and loved it for a dozen years in SE AK. Eventually I replaced it with the diesel version but have always missed the solid version heater. On my wish list for the boat I now have.
