Here's something completely non-political, and (I hope) without even any controversy or drama. My son got married this weekend, and everybody survived, and I think even had a good time. The weather was absolutely perfect; a good thing since it was outdoors. The brides's parents from BC are as nice as she is, and that's saying something. I'm just very thankful they don't do this often.

I don't usually post personal pictures, but they said it was OK.

Keith,

Looks like a lovely day. Congrats to both of them and to both of their parents. Looks like your son chose well:

I'm happy for yours, Keith, may it be a long and good union. Weddings are right up there with birthday parties. Better, because no one get's a year older and everyone gets to say their silly piece. A good party. LOL. For whatever reason pics aren't coming in here, so I'll just imagine the happy couple.

Oh Boy, another wild Unitarian wedding!Damn right! At the Jewish ones I always get drafted to hoist one leg of the groom's chair. And the last wedding I went to was a really really hard-core Missouri Synod Lutheran affair with "obey" in the bride's vows, no less.

Aren't weddings great. Food, music, champagne, beginnings and endings all rolled up into one great celebration.

Thanks for posting.

My wife was brought up in that church (including k-8 schooling). She's managed to put it waaaaayyyy behind her, though.

Congratulations all around.

It is a mark of the character of everyone involved, I think, that the cake is appropriately sized yet just *perfectly* elegant. And they don't look to be the kind of couple to get gauche and smear frosting all over each other.

I just love weddings. Everybody's in a fantastic mood, everyone looks great, everybody gets a little tipsy and at the end of the day you get cake! What could be better?

Oh Boy, another wild Unitarian wedding!

Keith, did your wife perform the wedding?

Keith Wilson
08-27-2009, 11:28 AM
No, Janne Eller-Isaacs from the Unitarian Church in St. Paul (http://www.unityunitarian.org/) did the wedding. Ann had more than enough to worry about.
