Went for a sail the other day. Having sailed on the Appledore III, the capt. let me take the helm.

The ketch is an early LF Herreshoff design named Albacore (1929), now owned and maintained by a boatyard owner.
The chimney visible just above the bowsprit has an osprey's nest on top of it! :D

Hey Webfoot, we anchored in your cove Friday night. :) Great holding in there. I had to use the engine to break out the anchor.
How about a boat update?;)

Steven,
Sorry I missed you, let me know next time you come up.
I have the engine pulled, and I am replacing mount and ribs working aft. Almost done refastening.
Take care, Chris

It was an unplanned stop. We were trying to get home from Boothbay but the wind just kept building and the seas were getting bigger and bigger. It was getting late and Mary was seasick so we dropped sail and motored in for the night. We anchored just at dark. I saw my friend Mark out in his skiff pulling some traps but I don't think he recognized me.
