China Camp State Park is holding its annual Heritage Days celebration next Saturday, 8/29. I'm hoping to take my dory skiff -- anyone else interested in either bringing a boat or just showing up?

The TSCA will have a few small boats there - see launching instructions in Todd's email quoted below:

"Hi all - the China Camp event is next Saturday, August 29th; here are the basics:
As in past years, China Camp is celebrating their Heritage Days Festival - http://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/466/files/China%20Camp%20Heritage%20Day%202009%20Flyer%20-%20RECA%20update%20with%20Tai%20Chi.pdf
The Alma will arrive approximately 12:00 to the usual fanfare
The Junk Grace Quan will be sailing to meet Alma
The Master Mariners group will also be present
There is no launching of boats from the beach due to the crowds, so Gallinas Creek around the corner might be the best bet; there is a gravel ramp there and a fee to launch
We should have permission to camp on the beach (tents up after the park closes and no camp fires)
DINNER - this year it is a pot luck dinner on the Alma - do not plan on having access to the big BBQ area; however, you could grill in the picnic area if you bring your own supplies
If I've done the calculations correctly, here is the tide situation:
Sat. morning high - 10:45 (+4.5)
Sat. mid-day low - 15:00 (+3.3)
Sat. even. high - 20:41(+5.7)
Sat/Sun overnight low - 04:00 (+0.6)
Sun. morning high - 11:24 (+4.7)
Sun. mid-day low - 15:53 (+3.1)
There should thus be good sailing off the beach on Saturday and good conditions for haul-outs on Sunday morning, but the boats will be high and dry overnight.
