Which equals the cost of a good burger, there or here. See my notes in the burger thread. I rest my case.

A$14.95 here ...I think the Australian agent does very well, I tend to brouse before buying these days .

Yep, at $16.95 up here in Darwin the east coast price of $14.95 seems cheap but really is just too damn expensive I'm afraid.

Just curious. Isn't this the argument to subscribe? With $45.00 US for an overseas subscription, ($7.50 per issue delivered), a sub seems a bargain. Or is it a 'fear of commitment' thing?

I subscribe.

Just knowing the next issue will turn up with out having to go and find it is reason enough.

Tremendous value for money any way I look at it.

Just did some sums.

A 2 year gift subscription I bought for a mate cost $111.60 Au.

$10.00 per issue.

I used to sub , but I've been buying it since issue 32 or something similar so I'm a little more selective about the articles these days .I still buy every second issue I'd say .

I used to sub, but found that I could buy at the newsstand for less money. May not be the case now, as that decision was made some years ago. However, my two-year-long, still-on-going problems with my sub to the sister publication, Professional Boatbuilder - has soured the milk in my views of subs with WB Publications. (If you read this, Scot, maybe you could give a nudge to the subscription dept. over at ProBoat...)

Support your local newsstand (if the price is reasonably competitive)!

Saw it for sale a few days ago. Still haven't received my subscription copy. It frosts me that I have to wait a week longer to get my copy

just think, if we make paper expensive enough, people will stop killing trees

I would think someone who has lived in the south as long as you have would realize that southern pine trees are grown as a crop. Grown, harvested, and replanted, just like corn or soybeans; just takes 15 years instead of a spring and a summer.

Cheers,

Bobby

I buy mine each time I fly through PDX on my way home - bookstore at the airport carries it.....but won't be home again until the end of next month so was toying with the idea of taking the $30 spanking....
