I have to replace some 2 x 10 pieces of lumber on my 1972 Tollycraft. The pieces are located along the base and inner sides of the flybridge (P & SB sides). They are what bind the the base of flybridge to the boat. Nothing fancy has to be done to the wood. Only the 2" base will be seen.
Anyway, my question is, if I use pine (due to obvious supply in my area - southeast GA) would it be overkill to use CPES for protection seeing as pine has it's share of resins already running through it?
And if I did, are there any mixture/reaction issues with CPES being used in an already sappy wood?
Thanks so much.
