Ukranian sailor Ruslana Taran won the Dragon Gold Cup held last week in Skagen, Denmark, defeating 80 other boats and continuing the trend of top women skippers participating in this historic and prestigious class. Ruslana and her team beat out long-time Dragon great Lars Hendricksen (from Denmark, but also sailing a boat from Ukraine) and Russian Anatoly Loginov.
Conditions for the event were mixed and the results reflected that, with several top teams suffering from ups and downs on their scorecard.
The only North American I could see participating was pro sailor Ron Rosenberg sailing with Gavia Wilkinson-Cox (as he has the past few years).
