View Full Version : Pics of Our Eun Mara Under Sail
A friend dropped by on Sunday and it was a perfect day for a sail and photo op. My wife Donna took pictures of us sailing "Meander", our Eun Mara out the cove from our wharf. We launched the boat last summer but had no pictures of her under sail until now.
Here are a few, lots more in our gallery (http://www.howardanddonna.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=3808). Between this and Schooner Race Week, it was a banner weekend!

.
Lovely photos. Thanks for them. It looks like you have a nice cruising ground, too.
If I could make a suggestion, what about streaming a nice long pennant from that main peak? --

Very nice. I'm wondering how you finished out the interior, too. Any shots of that to share?

Awesome pics, Howard. :D
I've been meaning to call and ask if you will bring her to Mystic next year for the WoodenBoat Show tribute to Iain O? I'd volunteer to help sail her over. :D

Great Boat!!!
There is going to be a tribute to IO at next year's WBS? Are there any details about that yet? I was thinking of coming and bringing the Adirondack Guide Boat I'm building, but I could bring my Ness Yawl instead....
Cheers,
Garth
PS Sorry for the thread drift.
Thanks for the comments. She's a dream to sail.
Woxbox, the interior isn't finished, but I'll try to get a shot of the layout. Surprising amount of room for under 20' because the bilgeboards are off to the side and make up the fronts of the settees/bunks.
Steven, if we can get Malolo ready (and that's still an "if", she's not even launched yet) we'll be heading down south again next winter and won't be back in time to get Meander ready for the WBS. If we don't go south, it's a definite possibility.

Great pictures, but two of my all-time-favorite boat dogs seem to be absent. :(

Maybe you could stop by the WBShow in Malolo on your way North. :)

There are some gems if you look in their other galleries:

I've mentioned it before, but for smart dogs, Storm consistently mistook me for a boat cushion. ;)
Not to put too much of a spin on your statement, eastern, but why don't you build one and learn to sail it? 'Tain' t that difficult.
(' Course, I might suggest something a bit smaller and less expensive to start with...)

Very nice pics. Do you use the mizzen often?
I find that such a mizzen often only makes sense when running before the wind to help steering.
