So what about Newfoundland and Labrador? And why's there a logo for them with a rugby ball on it? They aren't known for rugby...

Biblical scholars believe that "mana" is best translated as "What the hell is this? Bird crap? We're supposed to eat bird crap? You think there's going to be something else falling from the sky and littering the desert floor every morning Mr. Smarty Pants Moses? Oy Vey!" The ancient Israelites were, after all, known to complain a lot.

Humm, you may have taken some "artistic license" with that translation.:D Ivy league doctoring maybe??

Actually the first sentence in his interpretation is pretty correct. However, I think he made the rest of it up, as that doesn't show up in the margins of my Oxford Bible. :)

Also please note Manna has two "n's" in it, Mana is a Polynesian word for pervasive supernatural or magical Power.

Yes it's close, with out the "the hell" part.

It's easy to see where the Jewish people get thier humor from some of the old testament. And looking up what some Jewish or Hebrew words really mean. Manna is one of those funny words , "What is it?" Dan's literary license was very nice in ways:D

I wonder if calling it Jewish humor would be non- PC?

Paul,

Since you're in Michigan now, you need to realize that your new "local" NFL team was, IIRC, 0-16 last year. :(

You should learn to love hockey. You have a better local NHL team. At least they made it to the 7th game of the Finals before losing to Pittsburgh. ;)

(Pens' season opens October 2, but who's counting.)

Wayne, I'm a life long Cleveland Browns fan, don't think that'll ever change. Also an Ohio State fan...

I am enjoying living in a city with a strong professional sports tradition, especially the Wings and the Tigers.:) Don't know much about hockey honestly, but its fun to learn.

Being an Ohio State fan living 15 miles west of Ann Arbor is kinda interesting... listening to 'Big Blue' sports radio is pretty funny. I can't tell you how many times a day I find myself laughing hysterically at their rabid radio personalities and fans.:D

. . . Don't know much about hockey honestly, but its fun to learn. . .

I didnít really discover hockey until about a dozen years ago. For fast action and excitement, it has all other sports beat. Go to a game in person sometime and youíll see what I mean. :)

Rugby's pretty close with hockey. Actually, best explication of rugby is it's like football without all the rest breaks.

I have great respect for rugby players. Not only do they play football without the rest periods, they also play without the pads!! A big Oy Vey!! :)

Firmly convinced that it was pro football which killed traditional wooden-boat building techniques, I will only say... "meh!"
:)
