go out there in a dinghy and ask..

That picture would look cool if those other boats and that gull weren't in there

It'd be a long row from Minnesota to Maine.

Yeah. Kinda hard on the oars and the bottom of the boat. :D

Raw Faith!

That AIN'T Raw Faith! The pic looks too much like a real boat to be Raw Faith.

[thread drift]
Please pardon the momentary thread drift, but since it has been mentioned, as of yesterday morning when I was in Rockland, Raw Faith seems to still be afloat.

Dave,

It was built in Turkey a long time ago and was berthed, for sale and unsparred in Savannah for many years when I lived there. She left the harbor here last evening going verrrrrry slowly under power and lumbered off over the southern horizon.

What's the little ketch in the left middle ground?

An H-28 with a doghouse cabin.

Thanks Dave. It looks like an odd cross between a tall ship and a mega yacht.

I beg to differ! From Duluth, Minnesota there is a water route, commonly used by ocean-going vessels, all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Yes, it would be a long row, but it would not be a row over dry land! :D

It would be even longer via the Mississippi, but there is water that way too...

Bruce, the first challenge would be to row from Rochester to the Mississippi. Actually, just rowing down to the corner would be a pretty big challenge for me. :D

That would be the Peace Maker (http://www.twelvetribes.com/peacemaker/), a very strange boat run by an even stranger program......

The only Mississippi way is the Chicago Sanitary and Shipping canal

But the water depths and bridge clearances are too small for her.

Dave, are you in Falmouth? Do you want to sail on Talisman tomorrow?

Steven

Dave T or Dave R?

If me, I am running races tomorrow for the local sailboat class.

Thanks Carl! I'd often wondered what happened to the boat. And I see I was wrong about the Turkish connection. It was Brazilian! :D

Dave T or Dave R?

I meant Dave R but you know you have a open invitation, no? :)

Steven

If me, I would love to sail on Talisman but I won't be close enough.

I'm sure you were asking Dave T though.

It is indeed Peacemaker. She is now out of Brunswick GA., and owned by the Twelve Tribes Group. Where was this photo taken?

O.S., I found the image while trolling for boat pictures on Flickr. I think it was taken on Boothbay, ME.
