Damn shame. I am not much for hotdogs but having seen the Wienermobile in person, it is a pretty cool thing. It looks very bizarre seen in the rear view mirror on the highway, but I am glad I followed them to a rest stop for a closer look! I hope it comes through OK.

I am sure it was also a rotten day for the drivers, who, as I recall, are typically college students hired to drive the thing around the country to parades and suchlike all summer.

Tragic News.

I always wanted to be the Wienermobile Driver.
Another dream shot to hell.

The Wienermobile in better days....

"...In case you missed it, last week one of Oscar Mayerís fleet of traveling frankfurters crashed into a house near Racine, Wis. No one was injured, though the house and the Wienermobile were damaged...."

Another case of the celebrity getting all the publicity... no mention of the homeowners with a gigantic wiener sticking through the wall into their living room.

If you or I carelessly stepped off the curb and were wienered to death in the street, the headlines would read:

Last time I saw the Wienermobile in real life, it was cruising short-term parking at the airport, with the driver looking for a space. Not surprising, given the "no standing" policy at the arrival gates. Still wondering who he was picking up.
